LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM

David Allen introduced Jarvis Green, the Artistic Director of JAG productions, who analogized him to Super Bowl QB Pat Mahomes because like Mahomes, Jarvis Green is an emerging superstar.

Jarvis Green offered a brief biography of his upbringing in a broken family in South Carolina that was turned around as a result of his participation in a Boys Choir. After graduating from college, Jarvis worked in theater groups in Minnesota, Washington DC, and New York City before settling into Vermont in 2011. Since arriving in our area, he was a key player in the launch of Artistree Arts Center in Barnard and JAG Productions, an African American theater group operating out of White River Junction. As a producer, he has two overarching goals: to develop world class actors of color and to “build vivid worlds through plays and productions”, worlds that reflect the times we live in. He described his ongoing efforts to accomplish these goals by sharing an event that was scheduled last weekend.
