Good Morning Hanover Rotary and Friends,
Wednesday March 12 at 11:45 a.m. please join us for what promises to be a terrific presentation by Dartmouth grad, founder and CEO of Grassroot Soccer, Tommy Clark. From their website - Grassroot Soccer is an adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to equip young people with the life-saving information, services, and mentorship they need to live healthier lives.
To read some of what Grassroot Soccer has achieved in the last 20 years check out their website.
https://grassrootsoccer.org/ Tommy remembers that Hanover Rotary was a very early supporter of this incredibly powerful non-profit that has grown to a global presence making a difference for millions of young people. Grassroot Soccer has many funding sources, including USAID, NIH and CDC. We can learn first hand the effects of recent changes to government funding and most importantly, learn of the positive outcomes from this Hanover and Cape Town based non-profit. Bring a guest to hear Tommy Clark, a truly inspiring speaker.
At our last meeting we heard from Jeanette McKillop (pictured above), the new Director of Athletics at Colby Sawyer. Jeanette brought along 2 coaches of new teams; Women's Softball and Men's Lacrosse. We heard from Jeanette about the mentoring she does with coaches, given their important role in the lives of college students.
President Bob is back in action and will report on good news from the Dartmouth Rotaract Club which seems to be reinvigorated. We continue to welcome new members, too.
SAVE THE DATE for our 22nd annual Pancake Breakfast at the Hanover Fire station on Saturday April 26. Lots of ways to help - Sponsor an ad on the placemat, help cook, serve, clean up, sell tickets, etc. This is always a fun community event and we raise funds for both local and international projects.
Let's have a great turnout at Wednesday's meeting and show our speaker that Rotary is eager to hear about what Grassroot Soccer has been up to since he spoke to us 20 years ago!
