LAST WEEK’S SPEAKER:

Sadly, due to an unforeseen change of plans, I was unable to attend last week’s meeting and so missed Dartmouth computer science professor Peter Winkler. Thanks to Todd Allen for lining him up and to David Allen for filling in as Zoom host at the last minute. I trust that every gained increased numeracy skills as a result of the talk.

LAST WEEK’S ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK:

I also missed learning more about last week’s “Rotarian of the Week”, Kathy Geraghty, who, I know from experience working with her, exemplifies the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”. I’m not sure what she shared with the club but I know she lined up speakers for a few years, singlehandedly kept the student exchange program and RYLA afloat for even more years, and can be counted on to volunteer for each and every Rotary activity.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

As noted above, I was not in attendance... but... I expect the club heard the following announcements:

Rod Thomas made an appeal for help on the Administrative Team once we return to live meetings in the near future.

Tom Csatari reminded club members that they make donations to support the Ukraine through the Rotary Foundation.

Len Cadwallader offered some details on the forthcoming Pancake Breakfast to be held on Green Up Day.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:

March 30 – Wayne Gersen introduces the new ED for the AVA Gallery in Lebanon, Shari Boraz, who will share her vision for the direction that non-profit will take in the future.

April 6 – Heidi Postupak will introduce Sylvia Dow, Executive Director for Visions for Creative Housing Solutions

April 13 – Dick Podolec introduces Dartmouth President Phil Hanlon

I am in the process of fleshing out speakers for the balance of our year (which ends June 30) and the summer… but am not hearing back from some prospective speakers as quickly as I hoped. Please email me with any ideas you have for speakers! As it stands at this writing, we have openings April 20 and 27, May 4 and 23, and all of June. Thanks to those who have suggested speakers and offered contact information… but more ideas would be greatly appreciated!
