THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM

Ben Van Vliet, Executive Director of the Upper Valley Music Center, and several of his staff members will share some of the many and varied programs offered by his organization.

SPECIAL APPEAL FROM THE EDITOR!

As announced for the past couple of weeks, it is that time of year when we solicit ads for the placemats we use to catch the maple syrup that drips from the delicious pancakes we serve at our annual breakfast, which is scheduled for April 4. I’ll handout a copy of one of last year’s placemats at the meeting, a copy which included several personal ads submitted by club members as well as ads their businesses bought. We earned just over $3,000 last year and would like to earn even more this year… but it depends on YOU! Please consider a one block ad for $65, a two-black ad for $90, and three block ad for $125, or a six block ad for $215. As you can see, the per-block cost declines the more space you buy!

LAST WEEK'S ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wayne Gersen announced that he would be emailing Pancake Breakfast Placemat for the April 4 soiree to be held at the Hanover Fire Department and encouraged members to consider buying personal ads in support of non-profit organizations they support or to promote their businesses.

Liam McCarthy presented Jeremy Lambeth with a card announcing that the club had donated $250 to the Rotary Foundation on behalf of Jeremy’s service to the club during his time in Hanover. Liam wished Jeremy and his family well as he tackles a new assignment at the University of Oklahoma.

Liam McCarthy completed the second reading of officers for 2020-21.

Deuce Dennision offered three Happy Dollars in honor of Teri Minelli, Bob Garfield, and Carol Olwert, all of whom volunteered to assist with the PICS program at Richmond Middle School.

Alison Sherman won the raffle.

LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM

Gina Allison introduced her daughter Perry Allison, the founder and Artistic Director of We The People Theater. Perry shared the brief but noteworthy history of We The People Theater, whose shows 1776 and Working were both great successes. Perry then described the latest show her troupe will be presenting--- The Man of LaMancha, which is based on the book Don Quixote, whose sales are only exceeded by the Bible! Perry introduced Haim Gillett, who is playing the title role in the play, and she and Haim offered some excerpts from the play. Haim has played the role three times and teased us with his readings by saying at the conclusion of three of them: “…and here I break into song!” Perry noted that in keeping with the tradition established with the first three plays, there will be four post-performance opportunities for the audience to engage with regional leaders to discuss the potential implications of the play.
