I will be introducing Lorrie Wilkes, a Norwich resident who has worked as a volunteer with refugees on the Greek Islands of Lesvos in 2018 and Samos this past year. She will be sharing some pictures of her experiences as a medical assistant and as a teacher of English as a second language and some personal anecdotes about the colleagues and refugees she worked with. The migration from the Middle East to Europe has diminished but there are still so many refugees that the camps in Greece are overcrowded. This picture of a raft that carried 40+ refugees give you a sense of the perils of seeking refuge in the West.

September 11 – Jed Williamson will introduce Kathy Harvard who will talk about her efforts to find a cure for Alzheimers 

 

September 18 onward: We have speakers lined up through October 24 but I need to confirm the sequence before publishing more information. Expect to see some details next week!
